
This Computer Science Scholarships project aims at characterizing mating and mating type switching among species belonging to clade 11 (the Kluyveromyces yeasts) and to compare these with other ascomycetes. Methods used include molecular genetics, biochemistry as well as large scale genomic analyses.
Computer Science Scholarships Applicants should have a master degree (240hp) in Molecular Biology or similar. The applicant must have experience of molecular biology techniques. Experience of quantitative PCR techniques, chromatin immunoprecipitationand gene deletion/manipulation in yeastis a plus. Theoretical knowledge of recombination and evolution of sexual reproduction is a merit. Very good knowledge of English is required.
