Japanese Studies Fellowship Computer Science Scholarships Program Open Call Announcement


Computer Science Scholarships Applicants must be U.S. citizens, while an American citizen living abroad, or permanent resident of the United States. Americans with permanent residency abroad must submit their applications to the Japan Foundation office in the country where they live or to Japanese diplomatic missions in their resident country no later than January 1, 2011, by using different forms. Applicants who are in the United States who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents must submit their applications to the Tokyo Foundation Headquarters no later than January 1, 2011, by using different forms. Doctoral Candidates must have achieved ABD status at the time the fellowship begins.Computer Science Scholarships Applicants for graduate programs and researchers (both Long Term and Short Term) must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in research, teaching and writing in the humanities or social sciences.

Computer Science Scholarships In order to promote Japanese Studies overseas, this program provides support for outstanding scholars in the field by providing opportunities to conduct research in Japan.

Minimum and maximum duration for the fellowship is indicated in parentheses. The duration of the fellowship can be adjusted by the Foundation.

Scholars and Researchers (Long-Term) (2-12 months): Scholars and researchers in the humanities or social sciences.
Scholars and Researchers (Short-Term) (21-59 days): Scholars and researchers in the humanities or social sciences who need to conduct intensive research in Japan.
Doctoral Candidate (4-12 months): Doctoral candidates in the humanities or social sciences.
