Computer Science Scholarships Complex interaction of climate change with land use changes and increased competition of food, fiber and bio-fuel production for natural resources call for integrated research aimed at the mitigation and adaptation options. WASCAL (West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adaptation Land Use) is a research program that focuses a large scale that is designed to help overcome these challenges and thereby increase the resilience of human and environmental systems to climate change and variability increases. It does so by strengthening infrastructure and research capacity in West Africa associated with climate change and by combining expertise from ten West African countries and Germany.
Your task is to determine the impact of climate and technology on the provision of food, feed and fiber in the area of focus WASCAL. We are Computer Science Scholarships looking for people who are very motivated to work in an interdisciplinary and international team. The successful candidate holds a PhD in agriculture, soil science, geo-ecology or related science with a background in crop production and / or soil science and expertise in using simulation models. Experience in developing process-based, numerical model at the interface soil-plants and in computer programming (C + +, C sharp) is a benefit.
